Hestora FHS portal
Future Homes Standard modelling
Model a property against the Future Homes Standard using the government's own Home Energy
Model engine, and see how Hestora high-temperature thermal storage performs against a gas boiler
and an air-source heat pump. The knowledge base explains how FHS compliance is assessed and
where a thermal store fits.

01
Modelling tool
Your specification against the FHS notional dwelling on the government's HEM
engine, with running-cost comparison against a gas boiler and an air-source heat pump.
02
Knowledge base
How compliance is actually assessed, why solar PV is accounted for the way it
is, and where a thermal store fits.
What this is. A design-exploration tool for the Future Homes Standard, not a statutory
assessment. It runs the government's own Home Energy Model engine so you can see how a
specification behaves against the FHS notional dwelling — compliance itself can only be demonstrated
through an approved assessment route by a qualified assessor.
The Home Energy Model has not been released. The tool runs the current pre-release engine
(1.0.0-alpha-7, build 2026-08-21) and FHS wrapper (1.0.0a7), which are still in development.
Results will move between releases; we rebuild against each one as it is published, and every page
stamps the versions behind its numbers.
